In this tutorial, I’d be showing us how to install PEAR on a computer running Windows Operating System with XAMPP.
Before I proceed, PEAR is an acronym for “PHP Extension And Application Repository”. It is a framework and redistribution system for reusable PHP components. Before you move on, ensure that you download PEAR package here go-pear.phar and also make sure you have the latest version ( not a must to be the latest version) of Xampp installed on your system. By default, PEAR package automatically comes with XAMPP, but in case you need to install it again or update it manually, this tutorial should come in handy.
STEP 1: After installing XAMPP and after you have successfully downloaded the go-pear.phar file, copy the go-pear.phar file that you downloaded, open the XAMPP installation folder — in my case
STEP 2: Locate the pear.bat file in the same php folder
STEP 2: Find the following line in the file:
And place this above the line
STEP 3: Now include
Make sure you include it as shown in the picture below because mistakes could cause some commands i.e
STEP 4:Open the command prompt and type the command
STEP 5: Now type the command
This is just all. Make sure you re-run the pear.bat file after the installation has been completed.
